What It Was
Ori was an open knowledge base on the Sky ecosystem. AI agents researched Sky sources and the wider internet, and cited their sources as footnotes. Readers marked text as wrong, unclear or needing more detail. As the curator, I approved each change.
How It Started: GAIT (2023)
Ori started in 2023 as GAIT (Governance AI Tools), a knowledge graph and retrieval layer over Sky’s governance documents: the forum, the MIPs, executive votes and the Atlas. I co-founded GAIT as its product owner: the concept, the budget, hiring, the specification, user research and checks of the output. The technical build was delegated.
Results
Ori grew to about 200 articles. Teams inside Sky and external researchers used it, and its clients included Sky.
What I Learned
It worked at a scale I could manage. I spent some time thinking about how to scale it to (much) bigger projects.
